Under the headline "More men marrying foreigners" in the Star today [9/11/2006], the Deputy Home Minister, Datuk Tan Chai Hoe, when asked the reasons for the trend among local men, said, "It is difficult to explain why people fall in love. Maybe foreign women are less demanding than local women."
The Deputy Home Minister's statement has made me take another look at my wife of 45 years. I am wondering whether I should trade her in for a 25 year old, less demanding, foreign wife!
