DEAD PIGEONS CAUSE FLU SCARE

Page 3 of today's Star carries the above headline, accompanied by a photograph of "the MCA Belakang Pasar branch chairman Ho Chee Meng holding a dead pigeon found along the main road in Bidor recently." In front of and very close to Mr Ho are five other dead pigeons. When I first saw the photograph this morning the thought that sprang to mind was that Mr Ho is either a very stupid man or he has very strong suicidal tendencies. When people all over the world are paranoid over avian flu and there have been innumerable warnings of a possible worldwide avian flu pandemic, the photograph of Mr Ho must be shocking to quite a lot of people.
On page 4 of the same Star the headline screams, "Please pray for me, says ex-minister." This is in reference to former state minister of Sabah, Datuk Conrad Mojuntin, who was reported making the appeal to reporters who were at his daughter's wedding. Perhaps the MCA official, Mr Ho, should also appeal to the reporters to pray for him. Posted by Picasa
